About Us

Our Story

Our founder, Mekila Nwambe, was born and raised in a small village in the Northwest region of Cameroon. His village was not covered by the national grid, so he relied on kerosene lamps for lighting. Simply studying using kerosene lamps or candles, came with numerous hazards.

Later in life, he noticed that children didn’t use kerosene lamps to study – electricity added enormous value to them. Electricity powered their computers, which allowed students to access amazing educational opportunities on the internet, electricity powered their fridges and refrigerators, which allowed households to preserve excess food, and electricity provided constant lighting that enabled students to study and improve their academic scores.

‘Immediately I sensed the gap between us growing up in our little village without electricity, and kids growing up in advanced countries with access to unlimited electricity supply. With access to electric power, counterparts in advanced countries were pulling ahead by miles, and developing skills we could never compete against. Electricity was the dividing line.’

Thus, Sunsave Solutions was born!
